High Performance Breathwork
With Chloe Phelps from the breath society.

Chloe aims to connect athletes to the full power of their breath by providing science-based breathwork techniques that enhance both physical and mental aspects of performance and The Breath Society provides a training approach that’s the only one of its kind in that it focuses on a 360-degree approach to breath enhancement. Bio:
Chloe is a Physiotherapist and Sport Scientist based in Perth, WA who has spent the most part of the last 10-years gaining valuable experience in the sporting industry. She has worked for Sports Medicine Australia, was previously Head Trainer for the Fremantle Dockers in the AFL and is now the Head Physiotherapist for Claremont Football Club in the West Australian Football League. She works clinically as a physio at LifeCare Claremont, and has completed additional training as a 500-hour Clinical Pilates Instructor, in High Performance Mindfulness through Emma Murray and is an Advanced Oxygen Advantage Instructor through Patrick McKeown.

Chloe found a connection to her breath through guided meditation in 2013 when she lost a handful of friends in separate, sudden and unexpected circumstances. While mindfulness-based breathing is something she continues to live, learn and teach, Chloe now focuses purely on breath enhancement training in the context of sports performance. By combining principles of sport science, respiratory physio, neuroscience and human movement with her passion for all things breath, Chloe founded The Breath Society in 2021 with the vision of changing the way athletes breathe. Chloe aims to connect athletes to the full power of their breath by providing science-based breathwork techniques that enhance both physical and mental aspects of performance and The Breath Society provides a training approach that’s the only one of its kind in that it focuses on a 360-degree approach to breath enhancement. From biomechanics and breathing pattern re-training to CO2 tolerance, hypoxic/hypercapnic (low O2/high CO2) training, respiratory muscle training and nervous system regulation techniques, it delivers an unmatched blend of high-performance and breathing science.

Chloe has worked with athletes in various sporting codes including AFL footballers, Olympic triathletes, boxers, big-wave surfers and professional body-boarders. She’s uniquely positioned to understand athletic demands and individualise training to optimise athlete outcomes. Her approach is genuine and holistic in nature, and unparalleled in care.
